Acne Hyperpigmentation Blemishes Left After Acne Resolves

Bookmark and Share
Pigmentation is the coloring of a person's skin. When someone is healthy, his or her skin will appear ordinary in colour. In the case of illness or injury, the person's skin may change colour, becoming darker (hyperpigmentation) or lighter (hypopigmentation). Soreness caused by acne attacks may lead to a kind of acne blemishes known by the name of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

What Is Hyperpigmentation?

It is generally innocuous and identified by patches of skin becoming darker in colour than the ordinary surrounding skin. This darkening happens when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces ordinary skin color, forms deposits in the skin.

It simply has effects on folks with darker skin tones,eg Latinos or South Asian but it's not completely unique to them as it can impact the skin color of folks of any race.

It is caused by an increase in melanin (or in medical terms: melanosis), the substance in the body that is responsible for colour (pigment).
Our skin has cells that contain the pigment that gives us our skin colour. These cells are call melanocytes (they produce the skin pigment). If we have lighter areas on our skin it indicates that there aren't enough melanocytes or that they are not active. On the other hand, if there are darker areas, it indicates the opposite - too many or overactive cells.

The good news is that there are numerous effective tactics to eliminate the deposition of excess melanin. In several cases, it is as simple as using a melanin reducer and melanin inhibitor cream in the evening and using sun block in the morning. But first, let us take a look at the difficulty first and then we'll suggest some simple cures.

Types of Hyperpigmentation

First of all, there are the darkest spots, technically called melasma and the lighter spots simply called decolorations. They are handled differently and in this piece we're going to talk thorougly only about spots left behind after acne has resolved or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. These dark areas, dark spots or macules (as Skin specialists like to call them) may remain a while after acne clears.

Melasma, also known as chloasma is identified by tan or brown patches, most commonly on the face. Melasmacan happen in expectant women and is typically called the "mask of pregnancy"; but men can also develop this condition. Melasma often goes away after the birth. Melasma is often linked with the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. So women that are taking contraception tablets and ladies taking hormone replacement therapy during menopause could be influenced.

Freckles: they're clusters of concentrated melanin which are most often observable on folk with a fair complexion. The formation of freckles is fired by being exposed to sunlight.
Age spots: these wounds are flat, tan, brown, or dark brown spots on sun-exposed skin. As folk age, sun spots most generally appear on the backs of the hands, the forearms, neck, chest, and face. Sun spots are linked with cumulative sun exposure.

What is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation?

Post inflaming hyperpigmentation, or PIH, is the proper term given to discoloration of the skin that follows an immoderate agitative reaction to acne lesions. It is the skin's natural reply to swelling. PIH presents itself as a flat area of discoloration on the skin (macule) ranging from pink to red, purple, brown or black, dependent on your skin tone and depth of the darkening.

PIH develops when a wound, rash, zit, or other stimuli causes skin soreness, which triggers the skin to supply too much melanin.
Again, melanin is the protein in the skin that gives the skin its colour. The excess melanin darkens and discolors the hurt area. This tarnishing remains even after the wound or rash has healed. PIH happens in is extremely commonplace among acne sufferers. It can occur with certain illness like Edison's disease and some hepatic Problems. If somebody is taking too much iron, as an example, it can cause darker areas on the skin. It is also associated to some allergic responses, mechanical wounds, reactions to medications, phototoxic eruptions, stress (eg, burns), and inflammatory diseases (for instance, lichen planus, lupus erythematosus, atopic rash). PHI can happen in all skin variations, while it is more common in darker skin tones. It affects both men and women equally.

BIOSKINREJUVENATION is a natural skin-care cream that inhibits and reduces post inflammatory hyperpigmentation and melasma hyperpigmentation, or splotchy or dark spots on face.
