Gout Triggering Foodstuffs List

Here is a gout causing foods list to help recognise food you need to avoid if you are a gout victim. They're gout causing foods because they're especially high in purines. Discover why here. Also just avoiding these foods isn't enough if you're suffering from gout and desperate to find a cure.

Let us take a look at what causes gout first. Gout is caused by excess uric acid in your blood that forms pointed crystals in your joints. This gives rise to the leading indicators of gout ; rosiness, swelling, inflammation, heat and obviously unbearable discomfort!

O.K. So where does uric acid come from? Uric acid is made when purines in our body cells and foods breakdown after performing their urgent functions such as changing genes to protein and food to energy.

It's the function of our kidneys to maintain this uric acid at healthy levels in our blood. But they can infrequently do not do this efficiently with the result that we have excess uric acid, which then causes gout.

Since purines exist in our foods as well as our bodies it's just common sense to avoid gout causing foods high in purines. The following foods are common and you have to avoid them at all costs...

Anchovies, bouillon, brains, broth, consomme, dried legumes, fish, goose, gravy, heart, Herring, kidneys, liver, mackerel, red meat, beef extracts, mincemeat, mussels, partridge, birds ( especially turkey ), roe, sardines, scallops, shellfish, shrimps, sweetbreads, baker's yeast, brewer's yeast, yeast extracts. And you should avoid all alcohol.

But you have to be careful. If you 'fast ' you can make your gout worse. And there are far more complications such as your way of life, weight, general health, and many other factors in a proper gout cure that works. So although cutting out gout causing foods is important it's only part of your cure.

To come to grips with all these factors will take you a lot of time and effort, but will be worth it at the end. Unfortunately, it's beyond the extent of this article.
